Default Yet another 2.5 gallon Partial Mash

This should be a pretty nice Pale Ale for a stove-top partial mash. Hopefully I'll have time to brew it tomorrow.

2.5 gallons

2 lbs Light DME
2 lbs Vienna
.5 lb Flaked Wheat

60 min - 0.25 oz. Cascade (6%) and 0.25 oz. Chinook (11.4%)
5 min - same hops and amts
1 min - same
Dry - same

Wyest 1056

Beertools Pro puts this at 1.059 @ 70% efficiency and 40.4 IBU

Any comments?

I ended up brewing this exactly like it was written. OG 1.055

Took a hydro sample today...and...Yep! It's awesome!

FG 1.014

Will transfer to secondary and dry hop when I get around to it.

Hell, for 2.5 gallons you might as well do all-grain! I've done it a bunch of times on my stovetop.

I've done all-grain on the stove top plenty of times. 80's commercial flashback...."I learned it from watching you."

I just kinda threw this one together with things I already had. It's good!

Gotcha! I made up a paper tutorial last night and helped my friend make a PM batch. It went REALLY smooth.

The only downfall to 2.5 gallon brewing is that it seems the trub left is the same size as the 5 gallon trub which kills your amount of beer.

That is a downfall, but brewing 2.5 gallons of beer gives me the feeling of more freedom. With 5 gallons i brew solid beers i know will turn out good. But with 2.5 gallons i dont feel as bad or pissed at myself if it turns out bad
