Default WLP008 in an "American" English Bitter?

Anyone ever used WLP008 in an English bitter?

I'm putting together a session beer from stuff I've got around the house (I only need to buy grain) and decided on an English bitter for the winter. Here's my recipe so far:

8 lb Optic Malt (or Maris Otter)
4 oz Crystal 40L
4 oz Crystal 120L
mash @ 153-154°F

.25 oz Nugget 13% AA @60
.66 oz Progress 6.6% AA @ 60
.66 oz Progress 6.6% AA @ 15
.33 oz Progress 6.6% AA @ 5

Last time I made this beer I used S-04, pretty traditional. I'm wondering if I should try something crazy this time and use WLP008. I know WLP008 is a low flocculator (kind of the opposite of S-04) but it brings a fruity character to ales that I'm curious about tasting in an English bitter.

Anyone tried it? Am I off my rocker? Talk me down off the ledge if I'm about to do something I'll regret!

The cans of Leinenkugel's had masking tape on them with JOHN'S printed in ink. Amy looked around me and said, "John is protective about his beer, isn't he?"
"I put that label on there. When company comes I want them to know the Leinie's is his, not mine."

On Tap:
Anna Livia Irish Stout
Gondor IPA
Melancholy Bill's Infinitely Sad Pumpkin Ale
Lucian's Landing Ginger Metheglin

I'm guessing no one has tried this then ... anyone?

Or anyone have a good recipe for a different session beer with WLP008?
