Default Winery yeast

I live in South Africa CT and there are loads wineries nearby to where I am and as it is so hard to find any yeast apart from quick or brewers (which makes **** wine) so I am thinking of asking one of my local wineries for some yeast.
If I were to (and they said yes) what would they most probably give me, and what would it's shelf life be?
And are there any more Cape Town brewers out there?
Thanks.

There are many, many commercial varieties and it would be impossible to guess what they use.
