Default what is the shelf life of a kit?
Let's say I bought a kit for a nice dark beer a while ago. How long can the kit sit on a shelf in a garage before it needs to be thrown away?

is is extract, grains, combination? were the hops stored in frig. or left in the garage? Is it dry yeast? Lots of variables.

grains and malt extract
hops are pellets and stored in the kit
dry yeast

IMO....eh....malt extract may be OK. dry yeast may be ok as well so long as not expired. grains are probably stale. Overall May just make "blah" tasting beer.
