Default What do you think of my wheat beer recipe?

I am still unable to actually import the recipe from my BeerAlchemy program, so I will give you the highlights.

Any input will help.

This is for a 5 gallon, AG batch. My rig runs between 65-70% efficiency.

5 pounds Pils malt
6 pounds Wheat Malt
1 pound Rye Malt

Mash is a single infusion mash at 151 for 60 min.

Boil 60 min.

Simcoe .5 oz at 60
Simcoe 0.25 at 30
Cascade .5 oz at 10
Cascade 0.25 oz at flame out

Using a starter with Wyeast American Wheat

Adding 3.3 lb blueberry Puree (Oregon brand canned) in secondary.

Thanks

Looks fine to me. You may not need them, but adding some rice hulls would be good insurance for all that sticky huskless wheat/rye.

Otherwise it is hard to comment without an idea of what you are shooting for, how much do you want to taste the blueberry? The rye? Hops?

IMO Simcoe, Blueberry and Rye doesn't sound like a great combo. Your tastes may be very different from mine though.

What exactly are you shooting for flavor wise?

I am looking for a spicy tart flavor.

The rye and blueberry should be great. Simcoe and Cascade will bring a hint of citrus bitter.

Kind of looking for a unique flavored blueberry wheat.

I like to experiment.

Whats the worst that could happen?
