Took a medal at a local comp amongst 24 other Brown Milds.

Mandarin Hefeweizen
(based on Ed's Bavarian Hefeweizen)

Batch size: 5.5Gal

6.5lbs German Wheat
6lbs German Pilsner
0.75oz Hallertauer @ 45mins
0.25oz Hallertauer @ 15mins
White Labs WLP380 Hefeweizen IV Ale Yeast
2x312ml cans of Mandarin Oranges in their own juice

Strike Water Volume: 13quarts
Mash time: 75mins
Mash temp: 150F
Sparge: 2 step batch sparge
Sparge volume: 2 x 8.6quarts (17.2quarts total)

Boiltime: 60mins

-Primary for 9 days
-Rack to secondary and add both cans of oranges and their juice
-Secondary for 9 days

Bottle or keg for approximately 2.7vols of CO2

March Brown Mild



The color and clarity is much closer to that of BM's, though this picture doesn't show well.
