I stopped by the LHBS today to pick up some ingredients for a pale ale, they don’t have much of a selection which is usually why I’ll try to buy online. I grabbed some crystal malt and Munich and asked the guy what was the lovibond for the crystal and Munich. He had no idea, made a few phone calls and the only answer I got was they come from United Canadian Malting,
United Canadian Malt, Ltd. - Malt Extracts, Malted Barley, Wheat, Oats, Rice . Does anyone have any info on UCM malts? I checked online and can’t find anything from their site.
On the plus side, the LHBS guy gave me an ounce of cascades for free that was grown by one of his customers. They said to give it a try for the late hop addition and provide some feedback because they are thinking about selling homegrown hops in their shop next year.
