Uinta Hazel Clone Attempt
My housemate loves Uinta's Hazel Amber Wheat Ale. So Im thinking about cloning it for him. Personally, I'm not overly fond of it. I think it's a beer in search of its soul or at least an idea of what it's supposed to be.
Here's what I've come up with so far:
3lb 2 Row
12oz Special B
1oz Centennial 60 minutes
1oz Corriander at flameout
Wyeast 1318 - London Ale III
IBU = 33
SRM = 19
ABV = 4.4%
A lot of taste reviews comment on the Corriander. But I'm not convinced that they actually use it. It may be the Munich malt. Also, I'm sure they don't use London III, but my stout does and I'll be brewing both at the same time.
This beer won't be brewed until March or May, so I'm taking input.
My process for cloning a beer
1. Put on lab coat.
2. Drink beer and take notes.
3. Repeat Step 2 until I have a recipe or pass out.
On deck: Barleywine, Dampfbier, Belgain Golden Ale, Hazelnut Sweet Stout, IRA, Rye-weizen, Wit, Uinta Hazel Clone, Uinta Yard Sale Clone.
