Default Time for a new Style? CDA

I've posted several times about getting ales that were way off style. Most of the time, too hoppy. It's time we define a new Style: Cascadia Dark Ale. This would cover the "Texas" Brown, hoppy ESB's, porters, etc. Maybe two Styles would be needed, an ordinary and an imperial.

Dark, malty, hoppy nose.

How would you define the style?

Yup, I agree. Recent experience - I had an Elysian Fields ESB last week, and it was much hoppier than I expected, but it was a damn good beer.

New style guidelines a la Yuri:
Rich and dark. Nose has pronounced hops and malty notes. Adjunct flavors should be minimal, but caramel, raisins, toffee and slight roasted flavors can come through. Bitterness should be quite evident without throwing the beer off balance. Flavor and aroma hops are quite present and welcome.

Ordinary:
OG: 1.055-1.065
FG: 1.010-1.018
IBU: 25-50
SRM: 15-30

Imperial:
OG: 1.060-1.080
FG: 1.012-1.022
IBU: 30-65
SRM: 15-30

As for the name...Cascadia Dark Ale sounds cool...or given my recent tasting, maybe American ESB.

Just don't let Orfy see this style.
