Default Which of these is closest to Hallertau?

I wanted to buy a pound of hops from Northernbrewer.com, but they only have Hallertau in 1oz bags.

Just let me preface by saying that I am not a hop-head. I like Hallertau because it is not over-powering.

I mostly make only Weisses and Belgians, which is perfect with Hallertau.

So here are the hops that they have in 1 lb:

UK Progress
Cascade
Cluster
Fuggle
Palisade
Perle
Summit
US Goldings
US Tettnang
Vanguard

So Im thinking out of all these, is Tettnang the closest to Hallertau?

I was doing a little more research.

Tettnang would be close to Hall if it was German.

From what I have read, US Tett is completely different. It is almost like Fuggle.

Can anyone verify this?

I use Mt Hood as a sub... too bad they dont have that.

Why dont you get Hallertau? Go to HopsDirect.com you can get a pound for $10.75! They will also cost you less to ship than from NB.

$18/lb from NB
$8 to ship
$26 total for a pound of hops.

HopsDirect
$10.75/lb for German Hallertau
$6 to ship
$16 total for a pound of hops.

Why sub, when you can get exactly what you want, for almost half the price?

Wow.. thats a good $5-10 cheaper than northern brewer. I wanted to go through northern brewer because I wanted to order some yeast too, but damn thats cheap. I think I'll take your advice.

I start at HopsDirect first... you just cannot beat them.

You will save $10 on those hops. You are welcome.
