Default Thanks guys! Drinking my First (ACTUALLY SECOND) self made recipie

It is an American Pale ale with German hops (Tettnager and Halertauer) I scored on this try! My Wee heavy (first self made recipie) is good but needs much ageing before I can judge it..... I thinks I would still be a "Kit Brewer" if not for this forum.

If you don't already have it, the book Designing Great Beers by Ray Daniels is great for recipe formulation. I was kinda doing it blindly with mixed results before I read it. Now I've seen a big improvement in the quality of my brews.

ah.... creating your own recipes. Now you get to enjoy another sub-obsession within the obsession of homebrewing; perfecting a recipe.

Check out my sig for how many frigging times I have tried to get my porter recipe right.

I'm still working on my Church of Chocolate Brown, a little more caramel in the next batch, I think.
