I really enjoyed the Ruthless Rye IPA I've been drinking lately, and thought to give a try at a close representation of it. Mind you, I don't want it to be exact, I just really enjoyed the very peppery notes it gave, and would like to try something similar. Mash is the standard light body infusion with sparge.

I'm mostly concerned with the hop schedule, I'm thinking there might be a little too much Citra, but I'm not sure, what do you guys think?

Is that a question, or a statement, or do you feel there isn't too much?

I don't want it to be exceedingly citrusy, as I enjoyed the peppery taste of Ruthless. How much "spice/pepper" does Rye lend to a beer?

Been drinking Ruthless and liking it too. A newbie brewer here but I would think that your recipe might be fuller (right term?). What yeast are you thinking?

When you say fuller, what do you mean? More comprehensive, in-depth grain bill?

I was planning on using some S-05, American Ale. Something relatively clean.

yeah, that's where I had the question with Citra. I don't want the citrus notes to overpower the spiciness of it.
