Default recipe suggestions for cordial cherry imperial stout

It may be the only way I can get my wife to try some of my homebrew. We both love cordial cherries and she prefers stouts to any other beer.

Suggestions? Real cherries versus extract? chocolate? lactose sugar for creme?

Real cherries in the secondary will be good. I've never done a fruit beer but I've seen quite a few people recommend freezing them prior to usage.

As far as the chocolate you could use cocoa powder or real chocolate the last 10 minutes of the boil. Here are a few links to some recipes to give you a few ideas.
