Default Quick American IPA hop question.

I am ordering my brother an IPA kit from his local homebrew shop.

Here is the recipe

6.6 lbs. Amber Liquid Malt Extract
1 lb. Crystal Grain (cracked)
½ lb. Victory Grain (cracked)
¼ lb. Munich Grain (cracked)
2. oz. Northern Brewer Hops
1 oz. Fuggles Hops
1 tsp. Gypsum
Pinch of table salt
1 pkg. Wyeast Liquid Yeast - London Ale

I wanted to make this more af an american style IPA. I was going to keep the grains as is and the northern brewer hops. I wanted to change the finishing hops from fuggles to cascade and change the yeast from london ale to california ale. Any quick thoughts?

that will be dark for an American IPA. I'd switch out the amber extract for light extract or even some extra light extract....dry preferrably.

I just brewed an IPA with the following hop schedule which came out fantastic.

1 oz. Magnum 60 min
1 oz. Centennial 30 min
1 oz. Cascade 15 min
2 oz. Cascade dry hop

For an American IPA, use American Hops and American Yeast. The Hop schedule above looks great, but use Safale-05, WLP001 California Ale, or Wyeast 1050 American Ale not London Ale.
