Default Post your crowd pleaser recipes here!

I am looking for some great crowd pleaser recipes, something that would appeal to a wide range of beer drinkers.

Anyone care to share?

Most of the kolsch style ales do pretty well. Just remember to stay within the style and don't over hop the beer. I did 5 gals for a neighborhood xmas party and they went nuts over it. They kicked my keg in 2.5 hours.

My biggest crowd pleasers were EdWorts Apfelwein, the Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde, and a Orange Honey Hefe:

5 lbs Pils
4 lbs Wheat Malt
1 lb Honey Malt
1/2 oz Mt Hood @ 60

Wyeast Weihenstephan (3068)

Mash at 150 for an hour
Zest a sweet orange or two into some vodka and let it soak for two weeks, add at bottling/kegging

OG: 1.049
FG: 1.011
ABV: 5.1%

For a summer beer - Biermuncher's Centennial Blond - hands down.

Other's
Cincinnati Pale Ale from Palmer's "How to Brew" - my variation is attached
A simple IPA - my recipe attached

For my last party and the upcoming Mardi Gras party - I served both the Pale Ale and the IPA -- the Pale Ale is good for most beer drinkers and the IPA appeals to the hopheads.

I filtered out the zest with a yogurt strainer. Since I wasn't worried about clarity all that much I didn't obsess over getting all the pulp out

A bit late for the season, but everyone (all types of beer-drinkers, and even a few non-beer-drinkers) seemed to love my Christmas ale. 5-gallon batch, ended up at around 7.5% ABV or so:

1.00 lb Oats, Flaked (1.0 SRM) Grain 7.02 %
1.00 lb Wheat Malt, Ger (2.0 SRM) Grain 7.02 %
0.25 lb Chocolate Malt (400.0 SRM) Grain 1.75 %
1.00 lb Maple Syrup (35.0 SRM) Sugar 7.02 % [Flame-out]

0.80 oz Northern Brewer [10.00 %] (75 min) Hops 27.3 IBU
1.00 oz Willamette [5.90 %] (10 min) Hops 7.0 IBU

0.20 oz Ground Nutmeg (Boil 5.0 min) Misc
0.30 oz Coriander Seed (Boil 5.0 min) Misc
1.00 oz Orange Peel, Sweet (Boil 5.0 min) Misc
