I have tasted plum and smelled it in a few belgian beers but I think that is mostly from the yeast. With a belgian yeast and maybe a small amount of plum in the secondary might make it wonderful.
I know someone on this forum who just did a plum hefe. I tried it and it was way better than I expected. If he would ever post here (AHEM, JMO) maybe he could tell us about it.

I made an APA using only Nelson Sauvin hops. The two people who've tried it so far both said they thought it tasted of plums. It was nice, so plum + beer can go pretty well.
