Default Pliny the Younger

Okay, I've been inspired by Dude's Pliny recipe as well as the need to clear out some hops and LME, so I'm brewing something tomorrow. My current thinking is to do an extract+steeping IPA/IIPA with a relatively low ~120 IBUs and dry hop the hell out of it a la Dude's Pliny schedule.

Here's my draft (sans dry hopping, TBD). Comments welcome!

Batch Size: 5.00 gal
Boil Size: 6.00 gal
Estimated OG: 1.073 SG
Estimated Color: 14.3 SRM
Estimated IBU: 123.3 IBU
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Ingredients:
------------
Amount Item Type % or IBU
9 lbs 14.4 oz Amber Liquid Extract (12.5 SRM) Extract 86.8 %
1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 10L (10.0 SRM) Grain 8.8 %
8.0 oz Cara-Pils/Dextrine (2.0 SRM) Grain 4.4 %
1.00 oz Chinook [13.00%] (60 min) Hops 40.7 IBU
1.00 oz Simcoe [14.00%] (45 min) Hops 40.3 IBU
1.00 oz Simcoe [14.00%] (30 min) Hops 33.7 IBU
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50%] (15 min) Hops 8.6 IBU
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50%] (0 min) Hops -
1.00 oz Centennial [10.00%] (0 min) (Aroma Hop)
1.00 oz Simcoe [14.00%] (0 min) (Aroma Hop)
1 Pkgs American Ale (Wyeast Labs #1056) Yeast-Ale

Sweet. You could also consider adding some hops while steeping your grains to simulate mash and/or first wort hops. As long as you're trying to clean the cupboards...!

Sounds like a plan. (I'll also chew on some low-alpha hops while brewing to further maximize consumption.)

BTW, while researching (read: googling) multiple dry hopping, I discovered that Russian River alse makes a "Pliny the Younger". Tripple IPA. Guess I need a new name for this thread. I'll call mine "Big Ass IPA". Wait for the label on the Secret Forum.
