Default Partial mash/extract recipe

I'm looking for a partial mash recipe for my second batch. Something fairly easy. Like a wheat or an IPA, you know, a summer/springish brew.

Any clever ideas, or where do I look for some partial recipes?

TIA, David

German Hefeweizen Partial Mash:

3 lbs Wheat Malt
1 lbs Pilsner Malt
1 lbs Munich Malt

3 lbs Dry Wheat Malt Extract (or 4 lbs Liquid)

10 IBU (~0.75 ounces) Hallertau, Tettnanger, Saaz, Fuggle or Styrian Goldings

WLP300 Hefeweizen Ale Yeast

Mash at 152°F for 60 minutes
Bring to a boil, remove from heat and add extract
Do a 60-90 minute boil total (Vigourous 60 minute or light 90 minute)
Boil hops for 60 minutes total
Cool and transfer to sanitized fermentation vessel
Pitch vial directly (or make starter)

OOOh, that looks tasty. Thanks! The store here sells mostly liquid extract. I'm cobbling together an A/G system and in the meantime I am stuck with the partial mash. The "plan" is to make a partial batch now and in 2-3 weeks start A/G with the first batch kind-of mimmicing the partial mash batch.

Fun hobby, but it's driving the wife crazy already!

Thanks for the recipe!!!

my advice is find a recipe you like and then convert it to a PM. It's a rather simple process and it's what i've done for most of my PM brews. Some are harder to convert than others, but most are fairly simple.

If you find a recipe, post it here and we will help you convert it.

I have had good luck with this simple IPA recipe:

8 lbs. Pale Malt L.M.E.
1 lb. 20 L Crystal Malt
1 pack Safale S-05 American Ale Yeast
1.5 oz. Milennium Hops 15% AAU
1.0 oz. Amarillo Hops 8.9% AAU
1.0 oz. Kent Goldings Hops 5.5% AAU
1.5 oz. Cascade Hops, 6.3% AAU

1. Steep Grains at 130-140 for 30 min. Raise temp to 155 for an additional 30 minutes
2. Parge grains, add 4 lbs of LME, bring to boil
3. Add Millenium Hops
4. After 40 minutes add Amarillo Hops
5.
