Pale Ale Recipe Critique Please

Here is my latest recipe. I Pale Ale recipe modified due to human error. I was preparing my grain bill when I tipped over a bowl of my last 2# of 2-row. I ended up adding 1.5# munich light and an extra 0.5# of wheat to make up the difference.

Please let me know what you think.

you might have a balance issue with not enough hops. your gravity to IBU ratio is a little skewed to the malt side. 1.051 or, 51 to 23 ibu. I would up your IBU at least above 30.

SAMPLER 02-13-2010 02:58 AM

Any other suggestion for hop combinations?
I also have 2oz of Centennial and 2oz of Willamette's to work with.
What would is your recommendation?

MachineShopBrewing 02-13-2010 03:01 AM

i would go with the centennials.

MachineShopBrewing 02-13-2010 03:03 AM

What is the AA percent of the centennials? If you have two ounces of them it might be enough with just 1 oz bittering and 1 oz finishing with just centennials. the mt hood and willamette really aren't to the style of a pale ale unless doing an english pale ale, then maybe willamette.

it's screaming for amarillo hops instead of williamette. Then dry hop with amarillo 1/2 oz too.
