A New Castle Taste
Hello I am a newbie and I was wondering if anyone knows a nice easy recipe for a New Castle tasting beer?

The second beer I ever brewed was an Engish Brown kit from Brewers Best, and I thought it tasted a lot like New Castle.

A quick google search will net you a bunch...you could also search nut/brown ales on this site and BYO have a couple recipes in the latest clone issue

Here's my Newcastle Clone recipe:
2oz crystal 55
2oz chocolate malt
1oz black patent malt
steep these in 1.5gallons for 20 minutes at 150deg. Sparge with 1/2 gallon of 150deg water.
6lbs Muntons Extra Light DME added at start of boil
1/2oz Northern Brewer 8%AA for 60 minutes (you can substitute Target hops)
1/2 oz EK Goldings 5%AA for 15 minutes
OG 1.057
IBU 17.3
There is also a great Newcastle kit from AHS.
