Default Need cascade recipe other than an American Ale

I've made like 5 variations of American Ale & APA recipes and I have a pound of cascades coming my way. I don't have good lager conditions so anything else would be nice.

My thought is that cascade hops are THE hop for American pale ales, IPAs and American amber. They seem out of place to me in other styles, though. They have a discernable citrus flavor, which I love but I think it's because APAs and IPAs are my favorite styles!

I just did an American Brown with a TON of Cascades in it and the club likes it a lot. I just put it in a couple competitions so we will see how it does. But I tell you we have been loving it around here.

sierra nevadas stout uses cascades and its pretty good. i am doing a belgian golden ale right now that i am trying to get up close to ten percent alcohol i am going to hop it with amarillos and cascades but this is just an experiment and i dont know what it will taste like. but from what i understand in my readings thats what belgian brewing is about simplicity and creativity so i would try hoping a belgium with cascades if i where you

I'd have to agree that they are the standard for APAs and IPAs...although, after just having just brewed my latest batch with all amarillo, I think I may use amarillo now where before I would have used cascades.

+1 on Amarillo, which I think is more pronounced than Cascade. Of course, you can mix and match too.

As stated, many very good American Browns and American Stouts use Cascades. Do not fear Cascading the Choco...
