infact, i think that will be my recipe this weekend mate!

That'll be one big, malty ESB! Notice that my efficiency is set at 65%........that's based on my first ever AG batch, where I overshot my mash temp by a good bit. In reality, I think this one will go to 1.067, as long as I don't overshoot my temps by as big a margin as I did before, and get my water volumes right.
Another thing you have to consider for what I plan to do here is the fruit. That should raise the actual alcohol content some more. Therefore, more hops. If my efficiency is good, this thing will probably come out within the fringes of the "imperial" IPA range, so I don't consider 80 IBU's so radical.

Sam,
Have you tried the Dogfish Head Aprihop? Maybe my 4 pack was old, or something, because it was funky. And I like hoppy beers, but it just didn't jive with me? I had several other's in my brew club, who love the 90 Min IPA, say the same about the Aprihop. Maybe the sweetness from the fruit didn't mix well with all the hops ???????

If its anything like his last IPA--its going to be awesome. I think he's using pretty much the same concept for this one--but he tweaked it and "Emerilized" it (kicked it up a notch--BAM!!!!!!) if you will. I'm sure if you are worthy you'll get a sample.

DeRoux--he brought some over to my place one day when we brewed and we were both highly disappointed. Something wasn't right about it.
I still have one of the bottles in my fridge. I need to get rid of it.

Yes I have, and as ORRELSE pointe dout, I was underwhelmed. I thought the apricot flavor got lost in the malt. Hence, this recipe.
