Default Much difference in real fruit vs extract?

I'm thinking about a good way to get rid of some wheat LME that I've had for a few weeks now before it goes bad. I still make wheat beers, but I now use DME so I can get the color closer to what I like. I'm thinking about a strawberry wheat, but I've never made strawberry beer. I really don't want to mess with all the fresh strawberries, so I was thinking about using extract. Does this still make good beer, or is it worth the time and money to get the real thing?

Your best bets are puree and frozen fruit. Fruit extracts tend to have strange flavors.

Strawberries have a very mild taste, so you will need more fruit.

Cherries have a stronger flavor, and raspberries have a very strong flavor.

Extracts tend to taste like cheap candy or cough syrup. I have used them, but fruit is MUCH better.
