They can trademark whatever name they want for it. But unless it's a genetically modified organism, they can't copyright the plant itself.
You're perfectly within you legal right to buy a Columbus rhizome and name it whatever you like, then trademark the name, assuming it isn't already taken or extremely similar to another.
We better keep up the Greek God lineage. Buy one and rename it Hermes. Better yet... Titan. |

Or, since it's a rhizome, Athena who "sprung, fully formed and wearing armor" from Zeus' head.
Looking around, it may be possible to grow hops (at a diminished yield) outside an apartment.

From what I understand, Nugget Nectar gets most of it's character from Simcoe and CTZ. It's just called that because they use Nugget for the bittering and it sounds good.

Not sure how it's generally "rated", but I hadn't heard of NZ Motueka when I stumbled on it and its quickly become an absolute favorite. So tasty

agreed. a local brewery near me makes a citra hops only IPA. not good at all...

I have one down that road that makes "Citra", obviously a Citra pale.
And "Simtra", a triple-Citra IPA.
Not a fan of either.
