Brewed this up last night. Hit a nice OG of 1.61 with slightly higher then intended final volume, so I managed to get a little more then my usual efficiency. Was the smoothest all grain session to date, even inspite of the amount of homebrew consumed

Checked on it this morning and the airlock is happily bubbling away.

A few notes: The recipe template is for an 80/- Scottish ale, the closest I can get to what I'm brewing. Boil volume is listed at 4 gallons for hop utilization calculations - I use two pots, 4 gals boiling in each, but only add hops to one of them.

interesting choice of ingredients for a Scottish Ale? why no Golden Promise or Maris Otter malts?

it still sounds and looks good!

The recipe is tailored around what I can easily get at my LHBS, so no GP or MO. I'll definitly keep that in mind though, as I'm thinking about making an order for some MO in bulk.

I've started using MO for almost everything. If I ever go the bulk route I'll definitely be grabbing 55# of it. Looks like a nice brew!
