Default I need a Hamms beer recipe

I need a Hamms Beer recipe. It is not for me it is for my dad. His birthday is comming up and he wants to brew a batch of Hamms. Don't ask me, of all the beers to brew. I guess it is what he drank in Veitnam. He said he and his buddy's use to trade with other units Budweiser for Hamms. So I'm going to try to find a recipe with your help. I'm guessing it is going to have rice and corn in it. Should be a cheap batch to brew.

Thanks for any input.

Andrew

I am sure someone can help you with that recipe, however if I'm not mistaken I think you can still buy Hamm's . I'm sure I ran across it not that long ago.

Still being sold: http://www.millercoors.com/our-beers/great-beer.aspx (and scroll through).

It'd be a pretty heavy task to brew Hamm's as they brew it. The skill level involved is rather high.

I recently read somewhere that the recipes for most of the macro-brewed US lagers are about the same, 6-row, rice and corn. The ingredient that makes a Budweiser different from a Hamms is the yeast. You'll need to do most of your homework in that area.

Thanks for the response(s) so far. I haven't seen Hamms for sale on the west coast, San Diego. Guess we are far from the Land of Sky Blue Waters.

I keep reading this thread title as "Hamas beer". Maybe I need a lie-down.

Beer is the mind-killer. Beer is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my beer. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see it's path. When the beer has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I think I've had Hamm's once (1 6-pack). The one thing I remember was "CORN", and lots of it.
