I am brewing a brown porter for a wedding present. It's a simple recipe:

8 lb Marris Otter
1 lb Crystal 60
0.5 lb Chocolate

w/ EKG at 60 and 15 min and Wyeast English Ale II

Since the bride's name is Cinnamon and the groom's surname is Porter, I decided-har har-to take two 2" cinnamon sticks and make an extract with vodka. And just for kicks I went ahead and added a split vanilla bean to the mix. When I bottled it tonight my senses were overrun with the enticing aroma of fresh-baked coffee cake. I was able to fill every last bottle I had, so did not have any leftovers to take a taste, but I'm hoping it tastes as great as it smells.

Now the $64,000 question is am I now legally allowed to drink this for breakfast?

dank....super dank. Im jealous man, sounds like a winner. In three weeks lets us know if it came out how you expect.

oh, and sneak one in a week or so...you know, brewmaster sample. ;-)

I just had one for the first time 18 days in. It's still a little green, but the aroma has persisted. The cinnamon flavor is a bit strong, but the vanilla comes in and mellows things out a bit. This will do well with another 2-3 weeks of aging.
