Default How old is to old?

What is the oldest malt you have used on a batch of beer and still got great results? Is there such a thing as too old if the malt was stored properly?

as long as she's 18. oh wait, wrong question.

I have personally used 2 row that was close to a year old (or just over) and stored well in plastic then in a sealed bucket. used it to make a 1.039 cream ale of all things and there was no noticeable off flavors or anything. the grain was even still pretty crunchy. if you think it may me a little soft for milling, stick it in an oven set to 150 for 20-25 mins on a cookie sheet, stirring it up every few minutes. this will dry it back out without adding any darkness to the grains.

p.s. no noticeable difference in efficiency either.

I echo BMs comments, I have some specialty stuff getting close to 2 years old...

Base stuff I go through pretty fast, so not longer than 6 months here, but I'd guess itd go even longer.
