Default How did your Wet Hop Harvest Ale turn out?

Just wondering who used what kind of fresh hops in their Harvest ales and how they are turning out.

Myself - I did 2- 10 gallon batches of a 1.059 OG pale ale using 3.5 pounds wet Crystal hops in one and 3.5 pounds wet Sterling in the other. I equally divided all fresh hops and did 3 additions at 10 min, 5 min, and flameout. I kept the same malt bill for both batches and bittered them both with around 35 IBU's of Horizon hops. My Crystal batch is carbing, and it smells like perfume-not in a bad way though. Anyway, if anyone cares to share their harvest ale, I'd be interested in seeing what you did!

Bump. Ok so I got my Crystal and Sterling plants backwards, and have been enjoying my Sterling fresh hop ale, while my fresh Crystal Hops bubbles away. I kegged my Sterling fresh hop ale at 8 days. At day 14 it's now fully carbed and tastes awesome. Like nectar. Very light and delicate, but very hoppy. Nice hops those sterling are. I didn't know exactly what to expect them to taste like as there aren't any commercial examples I know of. But it is very light and subtle, like nectar, even with 3.5 pounds of them in the brew. Can't wait for the Crystal to be done though. I want it to be just like Deschutes Hop Trip. Fingers crossed.

is that 5 oz equivalent to dry? or 5 oz of wet cascade hops? I have some fresh nugget hops (about 1 pound) I decided to stick in the freezer straight from the vine with no drying.

I took 240g wet each of Cascades, Chinook and Centennial and mixed them together. I then divided that into 4 equal hops additions of 180g. I used these additions for FWH, 60min, 15min and 5 min. All in a nice copper colored IPA. It should be ready to sample next week but the taste out of the bottling bucket was much smoother than expected. It still had a great hop presence. We will see how carbonation changes the complexity.
