Default hop help - Bass clone

So a few weeks ago I brewed an extract bass clone and while it was still rather green 3-4 weeks from boil to drinking my friends said they liked the beer but noted that you could tell right off the bat it was beer with a big hop bitterness that faded (described at BEEEEEeeeeerr....

Recipe: Bass Ale Clone

Asst Brewer:
Style: English Pale Ale/Strong Bitter
TYPE: Extract
Taste: (35.0)

Recipe Specifications
--------------------------
Batch Size: 5.00 gal
Boil Size: 3.25 gal
Estimated OG: 1.053 SG
Estimated Color: 12.3 SRM
Estimated IBU: 32.6 IBU
Brewhouse Efficiency: - %
Boil Time: 60 Minutes

Ingredients:
------------
Amount Item Type % or IBU
6 lbs Light Dry Extract (8.0 SRM) Dry Extract 85.7 %
1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 60L (60.0 SRM) Grain 14.3 %
0.90 oz Target [10.00%] (60 min) Hops 23.2 IBU
1.00 oz Challenger [7.50%] (10 min) Hops 7.0 IBU
0.10 oz Target [10.00%] (45 min) Hops 2.4 IBU
1 Pkgs English Ale (White Labs #WLP002) [Starter Yeast-Ale

I am going to convert this to AG and make it this weekend, but I am looking for suggestions or how to tame the hop punch slightly. (which is still there in this beer but I like it)

I case your wondering the reason for the .9 and .1 target was that my scale sucked.

Did a side-by-side comparison, but didn't shoot a pic.
