Anyone experimented with herbs in beer? Anyone looked at Stephen Buhner's Sacred and Herbal Healing Beers: The Secrets of Ancient Fermentation? I've been doing quite a bit of this with good results.
I've made spruce beer a couple of times, many years ago. I stopped when some of my friends started comparing it to Pine Sol.

I got into this when reading about gruit beer and its stimulant effects. I've tried many herbs, and some combinations do seem to give me a lift rather than make me feel sleepy and heavy (hops are soporific).
I did a beer with herb in it once in college that came out excellent. called it Bob Marleywine
