Default Help with Red Recipe

I told my cousin I will make him some beer. He enjoys Moretti Red or Murphy's red ale. Anyone tried any of these or have a clone of either? I read the Moretti Red is pretty malty, never had either though. Im gonna go get some today though so I can decide what to make. Thanks for your time!
