I don't get why fuggles? It's not an American variety, and it's low AA so using it as the 60 minute addition doesn't make sense, since you just have to use more to get the same IBUs.

This is exactly why I asked for advice. I'm new to this and tweaked a supposed Pale 31 recipe.
What do you suggest instead of fuggles?

Oh Pale 31. That explains why it's got fuggles in it. They tend to do beers that are English influenced if not outright English.

To be honest though I just don't think you're going to taste the fuggles as a 60 minute addition, and you really do end up having to add twice as much as if you had just jacked up the centennial a bit. I think if you do .75 - 1oz of centennial total at 60 instead it will taste the same and you'll have one less variety to worry about.

Also the 5.2 stabilizer doesn't actually work.

Thanks I may try the centennial.
As far as the 5.2 I know I've read the endless discussion but I have it so I may as well use it, just incase it does something.
