Default Ginger overload!!!

Who here has experience brewing with ginger? Just made a Christmas American brown ale that I "dry hopped" with 1.5 tsp each of cinnamon and ginger. 2 week primary, 1 week secondary with the spices, and 1 week so far in the bottle. The ginger is SO OVERPOWERING!! I can't taste anything else over it. Question is, will this fade over time and if so, how quickly?

My ginger amber is one of my favorite tasting brews, but I usually stay away from spices. I use fresh (peeled) and sliced thin ginger, up to 3 oz. muslin bagged into a secondary.
It seems I came across a few bottles in my basement @ about six months and the ginger flavor was about half or so strong.

Hmmm. I used ground (powdered) ginger. I wonder if it makes a difference. I assume it would be more potent.
