28 views and no advise? Man you old heads are slacking.

For what it's worth, 98EXL and I are going to brew this recipe this weekend unless someone helps me change it .. so if it sucks, I'm mailing out bottles to everyone who doesn't respond. :P

Your recipe is solid enough and you will get a good beer. I would prpobably up the IBU's if I was making it but that is a personal choice.

I am assuming that you will ferment this in the very low 60's as the Cal Lager yeast likes that temperature. The brew I did with that yeast turned out pretty good and I will give it another try when the temps fall later in the year.

My house is about 67 right now. I plan on doing water bath in the closet and rotate frozen water bottles in and out for at least 2-3 weeks.

My plan: 1 week @ 60F, 3 day step down to 50F, 1 week @ 50F

Sounds good, that is what I did. It chugged along rather slowly but steadily for 10 days.

good thing I was thinking about cleaning out a tub for 'cooling' during fermentation.

I'm so excited about loosing my AG virginity

I'll be bumping up the starter when I get home in a few hours. Looking good so far (starter wise)

Oh, and by the way, whether you likes it or not, you will soon find yourself physically unable to resist purchasing a Barley Crusher and a big old 55lb sack of grain.
