Default First Beer BREW!!-- American Lite Kit

Hey guys, today I skipped school and made it a brew day!! I bought a kit from morebeer.com last week and I got it yesterday so I had to make it!

Anyways, the kit says it should be an OG of 1.040 to 1.045. That sounds more like a Non-light beer to me. should I add another gallon or so, or wait out the FG to do anything. I really want it to be a light beer, around 3.5 to 4%. So me and my buddies can sit around and drink lots of it.

Its for this spring and summer for a friend of mine... he likes light beers. If I was making a beer for me, it would be a wheat.

Thanks,
Crusader- (Ben)

A 1.040 beer will get you to about 4.2% alcohol if it attenuates to 1.008. I would not add additional water to drop the gravity...
