I'd change up the hop schedule to get more citrus flavor/aroma from the Centennial. You'll need to check the IBU's, though, to see if this gives you enough.

0.75 oz. Willamette Whole 5.00 60 min.
0.25 oz. Willamette Whole 5.00 60 min.
0.75 oz. Northern Brewer Whole 9.00 60 min.

0.25 oz. Willamette Whole 5.00 10 min.
0.50 oz. Hallertauer Whole 4.00 10 min.

0.25 oz. Centennial Whole 10.50 0 min.
0.25 oz. Centennial Whole 10.50 0 min.
0.50 oz. Centennial Whole 10.50 0 min.

i'll second the hop additions change. no reason for that 30 minute addition. maybe find some carafa II laying around and make a black ipa.

upped the grain to accomidate 5.5 gal batch (i figure ill lose a bit to hop absorption) and got rid of 6-row. I guess i misunderstood the use of it. As for more chocolate to make a black ipaif i had carafa i would throw it in to make things interesting but im thinking the chocolate will impart too much smoke flavor.

You start out by saying that you already want to make this recipe. Since you want to make it you want to like it too. It will turn into beer no matter what you do. Probably good beer. Your buddies will all say it's the best beer they've had since your last homebrew, and may well be. Why the heck not?

i obviously dont want it to suck but typically all these types of hops and grains are not nessesarily used in conjunction. Its going to be an odd brew but i dont wanna WASTE the grains. i figured i tweak and keep checking back. Either way im gona throw in what i was told on here. Brewing this next week. ill repost on how it comes out

just to update, this got brewed and ended up as a malty IPA....it wasnt dark enough to be considered black and the flavor isnt all that cohesive. Its drinkable for sure but i cant help wishing i would have pulled out the biscut. The munich comes through ALOT for some reason.... Pitched the wlp001. Its drinkable and i might actually enjoy it, but its not something i would brew again....well see how it ages
