A few weeks back I brewed my first IPA, and self made recipe.
My neighbor being the only critic so far, thinks it is amazing.
11 lbs mo 2 row pale malt
1 lb caramalt
1 pound biscuit.
8 oz Munich (ran out of Munich)
1 oz Columbus hops 75 minutes
1 oz liberty 30 minutes
1 oz Columbus whole leaf ten minutes
1/4 oz dry hop in secondary (columbus, I had an abundance)
Wyeast 1272 activator, and Wilkinson dry ale yeast pack on day 5.
The og was 1.072, dropped to 1.03, made a starter of the ale yeast, brought it down to 1.024.
I was hoping for lower, but I am more than satisfied. I set the psi on 10 for a week, and cannot stop drinking it, and I'm not much for IPA.
My brown ale just finished primary, so if it turns out good, I will post later.
very delicious. The hops come out very strong! aroma is great, bitterness amazing. one of my favorites yet.
