Default Does my rye recipe sound any good?

Hi, I wanted to try a 2.5 gal basic rye beer, so I bought the following recipe:

2 # Briess Rye Malt
2 # Rahr 2-Row Malt
1 # Rahr Premium Pilsner Malt

.5 oz at 60 Styrian Goldings Hop Pellets
.5 oz at 15 of left over Saaz

Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity

I defiantly want to taste the rye and thought it would go well with some flavors put out by the Trappist yeast. I have used this strain before and it is really clean for a belgan.

Thoughts and comments!

40% rye should be plenty if you want to get some good rye flavor. I would suggest adding ~.25 lb. rice hulls toward the end of your mash, though. Any amount of rye over 20 or 30% greatly increases your risk of a stuck sparge because rye doesn't have a husk.

I am brewing a Rye IPA next week and I'm using something like 27% rye malt and 2-3% crystal rye plus 1/3-1/2 lb. rice hulls.

Cheers!
