Default Does anyone have a 512 pecan porter recipe?

I know it is local in Texas, but this is truly a great beer. Does anyone have a great porter that would be good adding toasted pecans to?

Austin Homebrew Supply sells a pecan porter kit that is fantastic. Everyone that tasted mine loved it, whether they were beer drinkers or not.

I've brewed the AHS recipe before, and the guys there tell me that the 512 recipe was based off modifications of this. So, its probably as close as youre going to get.

Have you tried emailing the brewery?

No I haven't. I don't really know the etiquette where that is concerned. Is it bad form to ask for a recipe?

It is not bad form if you ask nicely. Tell them you are a homebrewer and love their beer. They are under no obligation to provide you a recipe, but many will. I have emailed (512) about the IPA but have yet to receive a response. I have emailed other breweries and brewpubs and have received many informative emails from helpful brewers. Good luck!

Eric
