Default Classic American Pilsner

I plan to brew this this weekend and was wondering what your thoughts were. I thought I would try first wort hopping and I adjusted the IBU to be the same as for a 20 min addition. Was this the way to go? I also added the dextrine malt because I listened to the Jamil show on CAPs and and he suggested using pilsner malt but I already have a sack of 2-row I was planning on using. I don't imagine I will get much in the way of flavour but it I thought it would add to the head of the beer. Is this a necessary addition?

I know this isn't that common of a style but does anyone have some advice? If not, I should have some experience to relate in about 6 weeks! I am pretty excited to make a historic style. From what I have been able to dig up it sounds like it should be an excellent beer.

I've never made or investigated it, but it looks like it should be a nice, easy drinking beer.

my second batch of fathers moustache has two more weeks in my ice box to complete the 7 weeks lagering. this batch i used cracked corn instead of corn flakes( yes - corn flakes not flaked corn) like the first time.
with the corn flakes i found i tasted corn for the first 3 months after bottling but it improved.
i hope the cracked corn (boiled for 1 hour to soften) will taste different.

update - brewed dec 12/06
bottled feb 21/07
tastes great - much better than with the corn flakes!
i always add a 1/2 pound of malted wheat to my beers for good head
since that is the only way i get it(married almost 24 yrs)

I brewed with 10 lbs 6-row pale malt, 2 lbs flaked corn, and used American hops (Liberty). It is a very nice beer, with a sweet character even though it fermented dry.
