CaraRed is a crystal malt usually ~20L...purported to give a nice red color and good malty flavor. I hope the 6# isn't for one batch.

I use it alot and I wouldnt use more than about 2 # per 12 gallon batch. It will make a beer nice and red and add a very nice malty taste

I've got a couple pounds of it, haven't used yet though. Was thinking an irish red would be a cool use as well.
