Can someone create a 2 gallon all grain amber ale recipe for me using supplies from Morebeer.com? I have never done all grain before. I built a mash tun and want to do my all grain brew as a small batch in case i screw it up. I do not have a local home brew store so I would like the recipe to be made of items available at morebeer.com. Thanks!

Look at any recipe around and morebeer should have all of the required ingredients. If not search for substitutes of that ingredient!

Default Simple American Amber Ale, 2 gallons

Start with 2.5 gallons and you will end up with just about 2 gallons for bottling.
This should place you smack in the middle of the style American Amber Ale.
The 5 minutes boil for Cascade will give citrus and a nice aroma.

Boil Size: 3.92 gal
Post Boil Volume: 3.38 gal
Batch Size (fermenter): 2.50 gal
Bottling Volume: 2.10 gal
Estimated OG: 1.048 SG
Estimated Color: 15.3 SRM
Estimated IBU: 31.3 IBUs
Brewhouse Efficiency: 72.00 %

Boil Time: 60 Minutes
Est. ABV: 5%


3 lbs 8.0 oz 2-Row
1 lbs Crystal 60, 2-Row
1.5 oz Cara-Pils/Dextrine for head retention
1.0 oz Roasted Barley for deeper amber

0.5 oz Centennial [10.00 %] - Boil 50.0 min Hop
0.5 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 5.0 min Hop

1.0 pkg Safale American (DCL/Fermentis #US-05) Yeast




Mash In Add 5.85 qt of water at 164.9 F
Mash at 150.0 F for 75 min

Sparge with 3.28 gal water at 168.0 F

Chill, into the fermenter, sprinkle the yeast on top.

2 weeks in the fermenter

Carbonate to 2.3 volumes
Dissolve 3 tablespoons (1.4 dry oz) of table sugar in a little wort - pour this into the batch just prior to bottling.

2 weeks in the bottle.
