Default Can I get a sanity check on my first AG pale ale recipe?

Hey everybody, I'm considering doing my first AG recipe in a few weeks. I'm doing half batches on my stove top. Wanting to break into my Designing Great Beers, I came up with a pretty simple recipe and wanted to make sure it looked okay.

Grains:
5 lbs Pale Ale Malt
.25 lb 60L Crystal

Hops:
.5 Oz Cascade for 60 min
.5 Oz Cascade for 30 min

I'm mostly worried about the Crystal. Is that too much? Thanks in advance!

60min for bittering, 20min and less for flavor/aroma

30min additions dont fully utilized their bittering potential, and lots of the flavor/aroma is driven off by the long boil time

personally, I would go with (looks like you want all cascades)

0.5oz 60min
0.5oz 20min
1.0oz @ KO or dry hop

1# crystal is a way to much in a 2.5gal batch, heck I think thats too much even in a 5gal batch, though i tend to like drier pa's, but I do like a touch of dark crystal (120L) in pa's and ipa's

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I've edited it with a smaller amount of darker crystal.

I think it looks simple, but fine. I would take ryane's advice though on the late hop additions.

You'll be pleased with it either way because it is your first AG, which is a labor of love. Enjoy.
