wondering if anyone has successfully tried to clone a caffreys before? My friend always talks this beer up but he can't find it anymore. He wants me to try to clone it, but I've never even had it. Any thoughts?

Not to put you off but in my opinion the beer it's self is nothing special.
I'd look for a recipe on here that gets better reviews.
I think there are one or two threads discussing this from a while ago. I can't remember if any came up with a recipe or link to one though.
If you can't find anything then if you gather as much information as possible on the beer then we may be able to help you formulate your of recipe for it.
Thanks Orfy, I'll keep looking around. I found a thread that discussed Old Speckled Hen in conjunction with Carffrey's. I like OSH but I didn't think Caffrey's was close to it. But maybe I'm wrong. That's the problem though; It's gonna be tough cloning something I've never had...
