Do you think maybe you should use a maltier base malt than 2-row? Maybe Maris Otter? I think this might come out as more of a DIPA than a barleywine.

If you're trying for a high test blonde shouldn't you consider using pilsner instead of two row, and maybe beligan high grav yeast? I'm assuming since you are calling it a blonde barleywine that you're basing it on a Belgian blonde? And noble hops?

No, something more like Three Floyds BehemethBarleywine. I would be targeting a lightly colored Barleywine...without any Belgian flare. The only commercial style I can find like it is the 3 Floyds.
