Default Belgian Yeast for Mead??

Never made a mead before, but I just finished some cider that turned out too dry for my taste using a wine yeast. So I was going to use an ale yeast to get a less dry product and was thinking of something like a Safale-T58 or some other Belgian yeast. I was thinking it would finish less dry and offer some different characteristics. I was thinking of a melomel, something with blackberries maybe.

I always use ale yeast for mead. I don't like a dry mead, personally. Just keep in mind the attenuation properties of the yeast - that'll help determine your OG - and ADD YEAST NUTRIENTS. There is precious little in honey or fruit that ale yeast need to thrive.
