Belgian Wit = Wit Bier? I'm a dummy newb.
I use BeerSmith software to develope and convert recipes for my homebrew and I was setting up a Belgian Wit from a previous kit I used (BB) to be converted to AG. So BeerSmith asks for the style of Beer, do I choose Wit Bier to get initial numbers or some other style?
Also, I do not see a lot of recipes for Belgian Wit. Is there a reason for the lack of availability or am I not looking in the right places? Salute! :mug: |
Isn't Belgian wit just a wit with a Belgian strain of yeast?
Mebe just me but when I think Belgian, I think more clove less banana. |
A Wit isn't a Wit without a Wit strain, so, yes, Belgian Wit = Witbier.

Yes, Belgian wit == witbier.
(German) Wheats are weissbier. |
Ok, so the answer to my question is.......... Yes! A Belgian Wit is a Wit Bier.
That was Easy! Thanks. Salute! :mug: |
Spend some time here BJCP 2008 Style Guidelines - Index and you will be less confused :)
Also, you can just look for the number and subcategory in beersmith then like 16A |
