I am slowly gathering confidence in making recipes using various software. Still have beginner questions. When I punch in 6 U.S. gallons as the recipe size, does that mean before I boil it, or the slightly smaller post boil amount.
In the software I use, the preboil volume is in one box, the "batch volume" in another. The preboil is usually 7 gallons, the batch size is 5.25 gallons.
I use Beersmith and set my batch size to what I want after I am done boiling.
