Default anyone ever try making an Emmer Beer?

during a trip to Germany this past fall, i fell in love with Riedenburger's Historisches Emmer Bier ...would LOVE to give a stab at making my own version, once i get a few more batches under my belt (i'm fermenting my second batch right now).

Let me know how it goes. I had a bottle in Oberwesel last October. It was delicious.

Hardest part will be finding malted Emmer. I'd wager. Lest you malt your own.

nice! i just went back and checked the itinerary, and we were actually there at the end of september -- the 27th-29th. so we missed each other by less than a week!

what a gorgeous place...

That hotel was awesome. I had a great time. Did you go on the Riesling tour?

We didn't tour a winery (we already had plans to tour a Scotch distillery in Scotland a week later) but did take that boat tour down the river to Rüdesheim. passed a million castles and vinyards...it was cool as hell.

That emmer beer was probably my favorite of the entire trip.

yeah man, and it was amazing. i can't WAIT to go back. greatest party i've ever seen...

the whole reason we were there was to tag along with my dad for a couple weeks while he was on sabbatical. while i had a blast in munich with my family, i think it'd be a tad different to go back with friends lol
